The volcano and Chicabal´s Lagoon it´s administrated by ASAECO, private entitie integrated by families of Mayan Mam origin. with social asistence and rural proyection, non lucrative, non politic, non religiuis, it´s oriented to the sustainable handled of the natural ronovable recurces and the integral comunitary development.

ASAECO works components are:
• Ambiental and cultural education
• Comunitary organization
• Ecotourism
• Protected areas administration
• Comunitary projects

In November 2005, ASAECO recives a recognition from the National Protected Areas Advisors (CONAP in spanish), for his pro conservation work.

Also we recomend to visit the Tkub´la Chej (where the horses drink water), Cultural Museum localized in Toj Mech small village.
